Realogic Co-Founder and President Sal Caldarone Inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame
We’re thrilled to share that Realogic co-founder and president Sal Caldarone has been inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2025.
It’s a fitting and well-deserved honor for the man who co-founded this company, served as its CEO for 27 years and oversaw Realogic’s remarkable growth from a small start-up into a best-in-class commercial real estate consulting and technology firm with clients across the globe.
Members of the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 Announced This Morning
Midwest Real Estate News Magazine, the publication that administers the Hall of Fame, vets nominees and selects the members, revealed the 45 members of this year’s class in its Winter 2026 issue, which came out this afternoon.
The issue includes short profiles of all the members of the Class of 2025, including Sal. If you’d like to read Sal’s profile and see what other industry luminaries were inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame this year, here’s a link to the issue: https://bit.ly/3ONh2n1
A Well-Deserving Addition to the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame
Midwest Real Estate News stated that among the many reasons Sal was selected for the Hall of Fame were:
- His long list of professional achievements over the course of his successful, 40-plus year career in commercial real estate
- The far-ranging impact of his and the team’s work on commercial real estate investment and development in the US, Canada and Europe
- Overseeing the development and launch of several popular proptech solutions while at Realogic, including rAbstract, our dynamic lease abstraction and administration software, and rBudget, a property budgeting and forecasting app
- Co-founding rSquared CRE, which just received a substantial investment from The Rockport Group, and overseeing the development and launch of its rDCF underwriting and valuation software
- Mentoring and teaching thousands of young CRE professionals over the past four decades, many of whom are now industry leaders in their own right
- His and Realogic’s generous support through the years of industry events and organizations like the REFF Annual Holiday Party, The Sterling Bay Benefit Bash, The Goldie Initiative and the Chicago chapter of CREW
40 Years of Commercial Real Estate and Proptech Experience, Including with AI
Since returning to Realogic in 2024, Sal is again involved in all aspects of our company’s operations, including client delivery, strategy, business development and marketing, and he has resumed doing consulting work for Realogic’s clients, who range from small, private owners and investors to many of the biggest names in commercial real estate. In addition, he is working on several new cutting-edge, AI-powered proptech solutions that will be available to the industry soon. In 2024, the popular and well-respected business publication Crain’s Chicago Business named Sal one of commercial real estate’s notable leaders.
Prior to founding Realogic in 1992, Sal was an assistant vice president at Orix Real Estate Equities, where he supported commercial property acquisitions, syndications and asset management on behalf of investors. Prior to joining Orix, he was a syndication analyst for VMS Realty Partners. Sal began his career servicing some of commercial real estate’s largest private syndicators as an auditor for public accounting firm Peat, Marwick and Mitchell (now KMPG).
Two of Realogic’s Senior Leaders Are Now Enshrined in the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame
With Sal’s induction into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame, two members of Realogiç’s senior management team are now enshrined in the Hall; our CEO Jim Pettinger was inducted last year as a member of the Class of 2024. That both Sal and Jim were selected for the Hall of Fame speaks volumes about their impressive leadership skills, strong business acumen and many professional achievements. It also affirms that our company is in excellent, capable hands as we enter our 34th year.
